MoneyGram Kenya ran a promotion dubbed Zawadi Kibao na MoneyGram starting late 2009 and ending in February 2010. The promotion was aimed at rewarding MoneyGram customers.
To enter into the promotion, customers were required to make at least six transactions at any of the MoneyGram countrywide agent locations. Co-op Bank, a lead agent of MoneyGram had six of their customers winning in the promotion.
During the prize giving ceremony, Co-op Bank Brand Manager, Francis Ngambi said, "Co-op Bank's partnership with MoneyGram has been in existence for over ten years and the partnership has provided great convenience to our customers in both receiving and transferring money in less than ten minutes across all our network as well as to those in Diaspora."
Josephine Onyango, a winner of a holiday trip worth Kes 100,000 said "I have been using MoneyGram services for a very longtime now. As a Co-op Bank account holder, I have been loyal to MoneyGram and I can attest that my loyalty has been paid me back handsomely."
