James G. Njane
Director, Human Resources & Administration
James G. Njane joined the Co-operative Bank of Kenya in 2019 and currently serves as the Acting Director, Human Resources & Administration. In this role, he oversees the Bank’s people agenda, fostering a high-performance culture, Sourcing and Facilities while driving cost optimization, Marketing, and Communications across the Group.
Before taking up his current position, he led the Human Resources Services Hub, where he was instrumental in streamlining HR operations and enhancing the overall colleague experience.
James brings over 21 years of experience in the banking industry, having worked in both international and local institutions. He transitioned into the human resources profession in 2014, where he has built extensive expertise in people management, governance and organizational development.
He holds an MBA in Strategic Management from The University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration (Finance) from United States International University–Africa. He also holds an International Diploma in Human Resource Management from Cambridge International College, is a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP – K), and has completed the Harvard Manage Mentor certification programme.
In addition, James is a Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and an active member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
