ICT – Quality Assurance Performance Engineer

Reporting to the Head – Quality Assurance, the role of the ICT – QA Performance Engineer is a vital in the system development lifecycle. They will be a bridge between the technology team and business users within the organization to ensure that the technology solutions being provided meet the business needs and perform optimally. The ICT QA Performance Engineer will co-ordinate all quality control activities and performance testing activities across different systems and ongoing projects to ensure all quality control measures are meticulously adhered to.
The Role
Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:
- Be responsible for quality and performance test planning while overseeing the preparation activities for quality control and testing within a system or project implementation, this is achieved by development of quality control tasks and test scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage of all aspects of the implementation and testing activities.
- The analyst will develop, review, and refine all checklists and test scripts developed by team members and testers based on the overall project scope and requirement specifications.
- They will undertake risk-based system evaluation to determine the types of performance testing required and the extent to which they should be undertaken and execute the test plans as per the documented requirements.
- They are required to undertake quality and test reporting to all stakeholders and advice on corrective measures.
- Responsible for creating and implementing test plans and test scripts.
- Responsible for creating test plans, test environments and test cases based on functional requirements, functional design documents, and user interface documents.
- Responsible for making sure that my colleagues’ test cases are up to standard.
- Perform a smoke test of the environment to ensure it is setup accurately to test against
- Prepare and acquire test data
- Execute and log tests
- Use test administration or management tools and test monitoring tools as required.
- Incorporate changes that are made in sustain back into that application’s testing documentation.
- Re-use existing testing documentation for new projects/releases.
- Incorporate test results and changes/defect into test case
- Identify and recommend process improvements as necessary.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:
- BSC in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or related fields
- Project management, System testing training
- 2+ years of relevant IT/Systems related role.
- Knowledge in creation of test cases, test conditions, UAT execution and bug reporting.
- Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality control best practices and methodologies.
- Keen on detail in order to produce precise results
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to listen, understand and interpret clients’ needs technically and in a user-friendly manner
